The Foundation's mission is to support young women of color like Sarita Wright Lucas who are committed to serving the public and pursuing careers in justice as Prosecutors. Prosecutors shape how the criminal legal system works and wield the life-changing power to reduce incarceration, promote accountability, and decrease recidivism. Women and minorities are underrepresented as prosecutors in the criminal justice system. It is becoming critical that people of color are represented in law enforcement agencies. Our foundation’s goal is help diversify the justice system by striving to put more women of color in the visible and important role of prosecutors. Students choosing public service are on their own financially to cover expensive bar exam costs. Awardees receive grants and stipends as incentives to choose public service.
