La Strada, founded in the 1980s, is an Italian charity located in Milan which helps people in need. It provides services and develops activities in the areas of socio-assistance, education and care. More specifically it deals with  the education of Italian and foreign pre-adolescent, adolescent and young people;  the housing and training of single mothers with children,  the assistance and care of children with family problems,  the rehabilitation of minors who have committed criminal offences;  the prevention of youth problems, the support to victims of abuse;  the school and work orientation;  the assistance and care to Aids victims;  the support to people with psychiatric problems and homeless people;  the training of educators and volunteers. The organization cooperates on a daily basis with public services, private organizations and voluntary groups. In the course of the years La Strada has supported the creation of many charities (such as associations and social cooperatives) creating the La Strada Group which counts about 10 organizations of the non-profit sector. It constitutes a real and active network of services able to answer to the people’s needs with pragmatism, integration and efficiency.
