Student-run free clinics have a long history of helping to provide care in order to meet the health needs of underserved populations, while enriching students’ professional education. With this in mind, students from Portland State University (PSU), Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and Oregon State University (OSU) have joined forces with Transition Projects (TPI) to take student-run free clinics to a new level of inter-professional innovation by launching Bridges Collaborative Care Clinic (BCCC). The joining of multiple disciplines from the start is what makes this local effort unique; although many other student-run free clinics have developed into inter-professional organizations, they have not started as such.
