Founded by two friends in 2001, Belabumbum started out as a boutique lingerie line, producing in Brazil (our name, pronounced bela-boom-boom, means “beautiful bum” in Portuguese). We began designing lingerie collections dominated by colorful, fashion forward pieces of lace and prints. Before long, these collections were found in the trendiest boutiques and on the sassiest starlets in Hollywood and abroad. When the founders became mothers, their interest in maternity and nursingwear blossomed — along with their understanding of the importance of moms taking time to care for themselves. Belabumbum was founded as a social enterprise — a company that contributes to improved social and economic outcomes as it does business — based on founder Heidi Rauch’s decade of working with women and at-risk youth across Latin America.
