The Centre for Applied Research on Economics & Management (CAREM), is located within the School of Economics and Management at Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences. CAREM is a centre of expertise for applied economic research aimed at knowledge creation. CAREM comprises four research groups: 'Differentiated Human Resources Management', 'E-business, 'Internationalisation of Higher Education', and 'Knowledge Economy of Amsterdam'. The current research programme of CAREM is entiteled 'Innovation and Participation in the Knowledge Ecomony' and covers four broad themes: 'Innovation of services', 'HRM and Leadership', 'The Economy and Management of Cities', and 'Internationalisation'. All research projects of CAREM have a strong focus on knowledge exchange between education, business and society.
