Catholic Guides of Ireland

The Catholic Guides of Ireland is a voluntary Youth Work Association operating since 1928, in both the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland. We actively promote diversity and inclusion and welcome girls and young women regardless of religion from all walks of life. Guiding invites girls and women to fulfill many of the challenges that life has to offer through participation both as an individual as well as part of a Company. CGI offers a rich and varied programme of indoor and outdoor activities, enabling them to become responsible citizens and giving them skills for life. As an all-female organisation, girls can be themselves as they develop and express themselves in a safe and comfortable setting. We are part of WAGGGS, a worldwide movement of over 10 million girls and young women in over 145 countries. Through this, girls have the opportunity to gain awareness of global issues and provide support and solidarity with their fellow Guides around the world. They learn all about campaigning and advocacy and experience the wonderful travel opportunities that exist. Our dedicated Guiders give of their time, energy, enthusiasm and life experience as volunteers to the Catholic Guides of Ireland. They run weekly meetings around the country, where our youth members can experience all we have to offer them. We have four age groups for our youth members from 5-19, with a variety of exciting and educational activities tailored to their needs. Volunteering with CGI and working with our youth members is very rewarding. It is a great way to have fun, make friends and take on personal challenges. New volunteers are always welcome. If you are interested and would like more information please contact our National Office.
