www.survive2thrivefoundation.orgThe mission of The Survive2Thrive Foundation (S2T) is to provide life-changing resources and support to displaced victims of domestic violence and abuse, to assist them in creating their own sustainable path to recovery, self-sufficiency and success. The Survive2Thrive Foundation was founded in 2013 and is a 501c3 Public Charity – Tax ID 47-3856056. Our Vision To assist victims of domestic violence and abuse in the transition from continued victimization through empowerment to true survivorship and success. Our Core Values Safety and Stabilization Resource Management Confidence Building Self Sufficiency and Independence This capacity issue transforms the issue of domestic violence into a homelessness issue and victims are re-traumatized and never recover to relative wholeness. When a victim calls their local shelter, they will be asked to complete the intake process and if there are no beds available, these victims are placed on a waitlist and must call the shelter daily and weekly until a bed becomes available. Only 3% of those who consistently call with this frequency will ever see the inside of a shelter. Turn-away rates are exploding and waitlists growing from 2 to 3 days up to 10 years. So what happens to these victims and their families in LIMBO? “We received requests from several parents for trauma-informed child counseling due to exposure to domestic violence. Unfortunately, counselors do not always have room in their schedules so we have to put children on the waitlist, delaying their access to important services and healing.” – Colorado Advocate - NNEDV 2016 Census In 2013, The Survive2Thrive Foundation changed their business model specifically to take on this growing homelessness epidemic in the hopes of serving victims through our programs, advocacy, partnerships, events, and technology.
