Formed in 2018, the Boston International Arbitration Council (“BIAC”) serves to promote Boston as a leading center for international arbitration and international dispute resolution. Boston has long been “the Hub of the Universe”, a commercial and intellectual center inspiring generations of global innovators. Indeed, in the nearly four hundred years since its founding, Boston has lived up to its forward-thinking founding ideals and set itself as a leader and exemplar for the entire world, from the birthplace of the American Revolution, to the invention of the telephone and modern communications, to the scientists, universities, and companies in Boston today that are pushing the forefronts of human knowledge and innovation. Today, Boston stands out as a global hub of international business and industry, as well as the home to world-class universities and researchers from around the world. As the city continues to grow as a hub for international business, attracting both multinational corporations and a diverse array of skilled professionals, the role of international arbitration is becoming even more important. To facilitate Boston’s role at the forefront of international business, BIAC works alongside Boston’s business, academic, legal, and political communities to ensure that the city is well-equipped and well-versed at tackling the most challenging international legal disputes.
