Irish American Writers & Artists aims to highlight, energize, and encourage Irish Americans active in the arts. We offer monthly events and a supportive network to build the Irish American creative community. IAW&A has raised funds for victims of the Haitian earthquake and Urban Librarians Unite and inaugurated the annual Frank McCourt Prize for high school students who demonstrate a flair for creative writing. We donate to other arts organizations such as the St. Pat’s-for-All parade, The Dwelling Place of New York, the Aisling Center and Meitheal. We send out a newsletter reaching 1,303 people. On Facebook, we have 4.7K followers, 2.2K followers on Twitter, and our Instagram page has 673 followers.
