Sometimes when the universe is perfectly aligned and intentions of two like-minded meet, lightning strikes with a flash of excitement and dreams make their way into reality. For Srilankan surfer Piyanande and Dutch entrepreneur Maurice, the universe was perfectly aligned when they met in december 2016 on a beach in Tangalle, Sri Lanka. The sun was already set and the two took advantage of the momentum to speak their dreams out loud. When the lightning striked, plans were made to meet again in May 2017. For one month the two exchanged more ideas, created their vision and learned more about each others lives. By then the arrows were already set on a long-term future plan. November 2017 their dreams made a way into reality, when they opened WAKA SURF. A small surfschool with big bold ideas. Combined with an amazing seafood restaurant, they aim to create a relax and enjoyable atmosphere where you can find all the best of what the ocean has to offer, in one place. Depending on your skill level, we will tailor the lesson to your needs.
