Successful applicants are matched with a high growth tech company and work as an integral part of their engineering teams. They are paid a salary of $75,000. The SVIP helps to arrange for US work visas and provides a flight to San Francisco, California, as well as accommodation for the first month. With the mission of promoting a social impact through innovation and diversity, SVIP has supported students from 35 different countries and generated a massive social and financial impact in their community. So far, the SVIP effect has lead 1/3 of engineers build businesses and get funding of $100k+ from the US, and their home countries, 1/3 continue to work for startups, and large companies in Silicon Valley, 1/3 find tech jobs in their home country. This transformational mindset of SVIP has attracted partnerships from top universities, such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Berkeley, to governments, UK, Australia, and India. These alliances allow SVIPers to count on a supportive educational and professional system, that counts with a mentorship program, ‘Meet the Entrepreneur’, and ‘Hackathon’ events, which mimic a company formation process from idea to revenue.
