Impact100 is a new initiative in South Australia that asks 100 local businesses and individuals to give a tax deductible donation of $1,000. This will enable Impact100 to raise one primary annual grant of $100,000, which will be given to a local charity to help them realise their ambitions. You, as a donor, will know that your money will go to your city and improve the quality of life of your fellow South Australians. The Impact100 initiative demonstrates the collective power of creating a giving circle, with the funds raised making a big ‘Impact’ on the successful charity whilst helping lift the profile of deserving but lesser known organisations that are serving our local community. The program also provides an opportunity for people to get involved in philanthropy and experience the joy of giving. Impact100 members help decide which organisation will receive a game-changing grant by voting on the final four applicants at an annual Grant Awards Dinner. Through interaction with non-profit leaders, Impact100 SA offers rare insight into the philanthropic community, which in turn encourages further engagement as donors, volunteers and mentors. All organisations who apply for the grant benefit by the raising of their profiles, learning more about grant application processes, and potentially attracting additional funding. Importantly, Impact100’s voluntary management committee does not want to stop at 100 members and $100,000 each year. The ultimate goal is to attract hundreds of members every year to raise more money and provide multiple primary grants to deserving organisations across our magnificent state.
