Founded in 2003, Breault & Smith, LLC (B&S) is a consulting firm specializing in executive search, thought-leadership and compensation services for family offices, alternative investment firms and solar developers. While recruiting at Commodities Corporation, a hedge fund and family office founded in the 70's, whose initial investors included legendary economist Paul Samuelson, John Breault, the founder, wanted to build deep partnering relationships with a few boutique search firms that were both broad and deep in the positions in the alternative investment industry and understood the importance of culture fit. After Commodities Corporation's acquisition by Goldman Sachs in 1997, Breault joined Heidrick & Struggles as a Partner in their Global Financial Services Practice. Wanting to bring specialized, curated, confidential search consulting to a select set of 12 repeat clients, Breault brought this philosophy to B&S. With the firm specializing in all positions in all global geographies in the above areas, clients appreciate B&S' full-service (i.e., one stop shopping) capabilities.
