With heavy hearts, we closed BRINGiT’s doors this summer. The headwinds we hit during our journey were long lasting and stronger than expected. As a result, we were not able to build the traction needed to succeed during these economic tough times. Our Mission was to make plastic bags a thing of the past and revolutionize the market for everyday shopping bags with our BRINGIT Bag Collection. To support consumer behavioral change in the most sustainable way, we developed a reusable, washable, and compostable shopping system of totes, produce, and bulk bags. Reimagining the highly unsustainable reusable bag, our bags were sourced from groundbreaking material derived entirely from tree cellulose fibers. Just one of BRINGIT’s iTKit shopping bag systems would take approximately 3,500 plastic bags out of circulation over the course of its use. A better planet was in the bag. The team is grateful to all the retailers who supported us and understood the importance of designing for the circular economy. Seeds were planted and there remains a mountain of work to do.
