Community Greening is a collective effort to improve our environment for people and nature, by planting trees throughout South Florida. As a member of the Arbor Day Foundation’s Alliance for Community Trees and the Florida Urban Forestry Council, Community Greening is a community-based non-profit dedicated to the planting and caring of trees. Since its founding in 2016, Community Greening has planted more than 11,0000 trees with over 5,000 volunteers through plantings at public parks, schools, and roadways, as well as through tree giveaways to local residents throughout South Florida. Community Greening focuses its planting efforts in the areas that need it most. Underserved communities tend to have a much lower tree canopy, and are therefore missing out on the numerous benefits trees provide.
