Murray Memorial Mortuary at 5850 South 900 East has been serving the Murray community for more than five decades. Funeral Director Brandon Burningham says being a part of the community is a big priority for mortuary staff. “We are one of seven funeral homes and five cemeteries around the valley,” he says. “We are locally owned and operated. We believe in serving the community, not just the families that come to us during times of need.” Brandon says that his staff is made up of first-generation funeral professionals who feel that helping families deal with the death of a loved one is a calling, not just a family business. This approach allows them to break from tradition and offer families more choices when it comes to funerals and memorials. Traditional funeral services are available in the mortuary. But Brandon says his staff can help coordinate services in other locations such as Wheeler Farm. Catering for services is also available. “Tradition is great and it’s important, but we want to break away to offer our clients exactly what they need to deal with their loss,” he says. “We are open to new ideas that will allow the family to customize the service that will properly memorialize their loved one.”
