Teach our Teens
www.teachourteens.orgTeach our Teens is an education project curated by Canadian teen activists hoping to spark change in the classroom. We have created dozens of educational resources for teachers of grades 7-12 to do with relevant social issues that we believe should be better represented in our schools! We want today’s growing teens to learn about the world’s most important concepts in a comfortable classroom environment. We are committed to providing kids with the opportunity to learn about identity and sexuality safely, a privilege that many kids might not have at home. Similarly, we hope to take content that is already pushed through the curriculum and approach it in a more relevant, progressive way. We hope that our resources give teachers the courage to cover those heavy topics in the classroom that society has tried to shut away: racism and white supremacy, Indigenous history, toxic masculinity and more. After 8 months of hard work and determination, we have released around 40 interactive and thought-provoking educational resources, which cover a variety of relevant social issues (racism and white supremacy, Indigenous history, toxic masculinity, financial literacy and much more). All lessons are designed so that teachers can take them straight to the classroom for use: they’ll receive comprehensive lesson plans, class activities, slideshows, references, and teacher notes to help them along through each presentation.
