The Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at UCLA, informally known as the UCLA Broad Stem Cell Research Center or BSCRC, supports innovation, excellence, and the highest ethical standards focused on taking groundbreaking stem cell research discoveries from the laboratory to the patient. We are committed to a multi-disciplinary and integrated collaboration of scientific, academic, and medical disciplines for the purpose of revolutionizing the treatment of disease through personalized cellular therapies and regenerative medicine. The BSCRC creates an environment in which our more than 240 members are provided with the most sophisticated laboratory space and technologies to expedite the time between basic science discovery and its clinical application at the bedside. The BSCRC supports core facilities such as advanced microscopy, next generation high throughput sequencing and stem cell banks to provide investigators with access to the critical resources and cutting edge technologies that accelerate research. The Center, with its Alpha Stem Cell Clinic, provides logistical and operational support to projects navigating the transition from laboratory to clinic, accelerating the translation of promising research. All the activities of the Center are aimed at unlocking the promise of regenerative medicine to make treatments and therapies available to patients.
