The City of Osseo is one of the oldest communities in Hennepin County. It is not far outside of the Twin Cities' Interstate 694/494 Beltway. Osseo is approximately three-quarters of a mile square in area. Historically a freestanding rural community, Osseo is now surrounded by large and growing suburban communities. Osseo is fully developed and supports a mixture of single-family and multi-family homes, senior housing, retail and service business, and industry. The City is governed by a Mayor and 4 Councilmembers and is served by a full-time Police Department, paid on-call Fire Department, Public Works, and Administration departments.
