The Edmonton Basketball Officials Association was established in 1950. EBOA is responsible for the certification, education, development and assigning of basketball officials in Edmonton and the Capital region. Supported by over 400 members, the EBOA is one of the largest basketball officials organizations in Canada. EBOA is non-profit, governed by a volunteer Executive Board and is supported by it's provincial counterpart, the Alberta Basketball Officials Association (ABOA) and nationally by the Canadian Basketball Officials Commission (CBOC) and the Canadian Association of Basketball Officials (CABO).
