VisionMetric Ltd span-out from the University of Kent physical sciences department in 1998 and its offices are located within the University in the beautiful city of Canterbury. Director, Dr Chris Solomon is recognised as one of the UK’s leading researchers on the science of facial identification and has received a number of UK and European awards for technology innovation and commercialisation of academic research. He was Technical Director of the company from 1998 until 2007 and now operates as its Managing Director. Product development and training benefit from strong links with research activities at the University of Kent and the company actively cooperates with its customer base. The company Directors Dr Chris Solomon and Dr Stuart Gibson retain teaching and research roles within the physics and forensic science programmes at Kent University.
