Tenby International School Tropicana Aman

www.tenby.edu.my

Our story begins in 1960, when Tenby Schools first started as a kindergarten for British expatriates. It quickly grew to become one of Malaysia’s first international schools, Tenby International School (TIS), Ipoh, led by Mrs. Dorothy Nelson-Doig and named after her hometown of Tenby, Wales. Over the next 40 years, Tenby Schools would undergo great changes, just like its adopted home. And, as the number of expatriates stationed in Malaysia steadily fell, we saw the opportunity to introduce the Malaysian Primary School Curriculum (KBSR) alongside the English IGCSE curriculum, becoming one of the first schools in Malaysia to adopt a dual-stream system that combines the best of local and international education. Today, we stand as one of the most recognisable brands in Malaysian education, with six campuses around Malaysia (Ipoh, Penang, Setia Eco Park, Setia Eco Gardens, Setia EcoHill and Tropicana Aman). In that time, we’ve gained a solid reputation for excellence in education which has won us several prestigious awards including The Brandlaureate Best Brand Award and also the Reader’s Digest Award in the School Education category. However, in education, what is most important is to look forward because our children are the ones who inherit the future. Today, we are proud to be part of International Schools Partnership (ISP), a network of 50 international schools in 15 countries. ISP’s values are closely aligned to Tenby Schools’, placing emphasis on helping our children prepare for the success ahead of them. It achieves this through a holistic, evidence-based philosophy called Amazing Learning, which is centered around providing students with repeated experiences that hardwire getting better through good struggle. We live in a rapidly changing world, full of challenges and opportunities. As more jobs become automated, human talent is more important than ever. To thrive in the 21st century, our children will need the necessary skills, knowledge, and adaptability.
