Geophysics at PSU is recognized as one of the leading places for Earth Science research in Thailand and the region. The center provides elective courses for the undergraduate Programme in Physics (B.Sc.) with opportunities for the students to carry out their senior porject with academic staff members from the GRC. In 1987, a Master of science Programme in Geophysics (M.Sc.) was estiblished and later in 2010 a Doctoral Programme in Geophysics (Ph.D.). Graduates are now working for national and international companies in hydrocarbon, mineral, and groundwater exploration, as well as for government agencies, with students also coming from neighboring countries. Courses in the graduate and postgraduate programme are taught in thai and/or English language. Since the establishment of geophysics at PSU it has been continuously supported by the International Science Programme in the Physical Sciences (IPPS) of Uppsala University, Sweden, with fellowships for geophysics training and graduate studies, research equipment, geophysical textbooks, as well as travel costs. Over the last years the Geophysics Research Center has established strong collaborations with leading academic and research institutions throughout the world and is determined to actively continue this.
