SP Specialist Inclusion Services
www.specialistinclusion.com.auSP Specialist Inclusion Services works in partnership with parents to support their child’s development, participation and inclusion in their natural settings. We work with parents, teachers, and therapists to address concerns that impact on their child’s engagement, participation, independence, social relationships and sense of belonging. We aim to build the capacity of children, families, and teachers to support inclusion in the community and to meet the educational and developmental outcomes for children. Our services include the implementation of Assistive Technologies to assist learners with specific learning disabilities to access, negotiate and complete oral and written tasks with greater efficiency, confidence, and levels of competence. We support children, young adults, and their families through the use of digital tools to establish a consistent platform that will assist with developing reading, writing, research, planning and time management skills. We support families to integrate a range of inclusive technology-based products into their natural environments to maximise access and participation in their mainstream settings, encourage independence and experience success. We provide social skill support focusing on developing clients social skills, self-esteem and self-confidence to support their ability to engage with peers, stakeholders, family and friends in their natural environments, as well as develop and maintain friendships. Our social skill support includes role modelling of social conversation (interaction skills), opportunities to interact, communicate and share their experiences, emotions and interests to assist with developing the agreed social skills. We also work to build the understanding and capacity of peers to understand and accept the difference in how we all interact and communicate.
