Supporting the BYU mission to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life, the Department of Plant and Wildlife Sciences strives to enlighten individuals regarding the natural world and to improve his/her own relationship with natural resources, genetic resources, and the environment. To succeed in this mission, the department will: -Provide an active learning environment where individuals develop skills and knowledge and work in interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems; -Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in cutting-edge research, leading to impactful publications and to graduates of character that serve others throughout their lives; -Provide experiences, examples, and perspectives that promote a global perspective, develop faith and character, and inspire sustainable action.
