Hands On Birmingham (HOB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a program of the United Way of Central Alabama. Our mission is to connect people to organized and meaningful volunteer opportunities that are impactful in improving the community. We serve as a volunteer coordinator to many nonprofits in the five county metro Birmingham region. Hands On Birmingham also coordinates major days of service for the region. These include MLK Day of Service, 9/11 Week of Service and Remembrance, Bunny Aid, Project Homeless Connect, Family Volunteer Day, Corporate Day of Giving, and the Back to School Backpack Drive. We also coordinate customized corporate service projects. We are recognized as affiliate of the Hands On Network and The Points of Light Foundation.
