We are an educator preparation and research institution within the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. We are 1900+ students strong, with 350+ faculty and staff across 8 academic departments and 2 research units. VISION - A sense of purpose, a sense of place: Preparing knowledgeable, effective, and caring educators to contribute to a just, diverse, and democratic society. MISSION - We prepare tomorrow’s teachers, educational leaders, researchers, exercise and health professionals. Our mission is to collaborate as a professional community in three primary areas of responsibility or kuleana: (1) Teaching–prepare new educational professionals and provide on-going professional development in education (2) Research–increase the knowledge base in education and related fields through the production and application of educational research. (3) Service–serve as partners and leaders for excellence in education.
