ERA is a Chicago-based architecture office founded by Eric Rothfeder. We believe that the design process begins with curiosity, and that this eagerness to learn is most productive when it is shared between architect and client. We like to ask questions, we like to solve problems, and we like to collaborate. Most of all, we want our work to express the knowledge and experience of the people that use, design and construct our surroundings. ERA works on a range of projects and scales from furniture, to interior renovation, to new building construction. The work is unified by a collaborative design process between architect and client, and a focus on the material, detail and assembly of the built work.
