The Illumine Initiative believes in the power of the individual, and that collectively, change is possible, and the world's natural order can be restored. Through its various initiatives, global citizens are provided with the necessary tools to live and act more responsibly, one choice at a time. As its first such step, The Illumine Initiative is developing an electronic waste reuse and recycling circular economy model under the title ISTINARA. With the objective of offsetting the negative environmental, social, and financial impacts of the growing e-waste challenge facing the world, ISTINARA by The Illumine Initiative transforms e-waste’s overlooked potential into economic opportunities for marginalized communities with a focus on women and youth through producing luxury handicrafts produced from the recycled e-waste by-products. ISTINARA’s pilot project was launched in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2020, and aims to swiftly expand its reach into neighboring countries.
