Alcobronz (Pvt) Ltd was founded in 1973, originally as a foundry. The name Alcobronz is derived from the primary materials it then worked with - Aluminium, Copper and Bronze. Focusing on the key principles of using high quality materials, precision machinery and highly skilled and professional staff, Alcobronz was soon able to become one of the largest and most respected suppliers of machined and fabricated components to both the government and private sector. In 1983, with the opening of the Sri Lankan economy, Alcobronz established a new division focusing on the import and commissioning of machinery for the steel wood working industry. Alcobronz is currently considered the market leader in engineering solutions related to the wood industry having over 25 world renowned brands and its own locally designed and manufactured line of “Wood Master” woodworking machinery under its portfolio. Using it's expertise gained over 3 decades of metal working and fabrication, combined with it's ideal mix of practical and theoretical engineering, Alcobronz offers its design and fabrication services to the international market under the brand of “ICON Engineering”. As of January 2011, Alcobronz will offer these world class design and fabrication services to the Sri Lankan market as well. Alcobronz (Pvt) Ltd continues to grow and diversify it's range of products and services and is currently in the process of expanding into the green power and energy sector.
