Penn Mahoning Ambulance Association was formed and incorporated in 1969 with the help of 4 local organizations; Mahoning Valley Vol. Fire Co., the Andreas Vol. Fire Co., The Mahoning Lions and the West Penn Twp. Lions. We originated in Carbon Co. Pennsylvania and grew into two more stations in the 80’s and 90’s. In our infancy our coverage area covered multiple townships in Carbon/Schuylkill Counties. Over the years as the 911 system evolved our coverage area has changed. The late 90’s the 911 grid was finalized, our coverage area changed to be West Penn Township; 58.2sq miles. PMAA also provides mutual aid coverage for all surrounding communities. Due to the changes in our coverage areas PMAA is now a two ambulance service located in one centrally located station.
