econ.ikc.edu.trWelcome to the Department of Economics at İKÇÜ Located at the Aegean Coast of Turkey, Izmir, The Department of Economics at IKCU with its young, dynamic and accomplished faculty offers a highly promising undergraduate and graduate level degree programs since its first founded in 2012. Our objective is to equip our graduates with the theoretical knowledge they would need in their future studies and the ability to apply their knowledge into a variety of areas in their everyday life. Our department accepted its first students in the Fall 2013 semester and since then, the undergraduate program is carried out with a 30% English language curriculum. Starting from 2018-2019 academic year, we will only accept students for a 100% English curriculum, as a medium of instruction. By this, we promise to provide a more internationally engaged education for our students. Economics is the study of resource management, allocation and distribution that provides a way of understanding for the human behavior and society as a whole. Graduating with a degree in economics is a signal that you have analytical and reasoning skills, and the ability to think critically and draw inferences. Equipped with these skills, our graduates may follow a broad range of careers including business and finance, government, and policy.
