Advanced Master in International Development (AMID)

AMID is a unique one-year post-master programme in the field of international development and has a dual nature. Trainees work four days a week at an organisation based in the Netherlands engaged in issues related to international development and attend lectures at the university one day a week. The programme is accredited by IAC/EADI in compliance with the IAC/EADI standing orders for postgraduate development studies programmes. AMID targets excellent, highly motivated MA-graduates who seek to pursue a career in the field of international development. The program aims to deliver well-qualified professionals with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to operate successfully in this field. Since 1998 nearly 500 trainees participated in the internationally accredited AMID programme. Today, over 72% of these alumni is permanently working in the field of international development. Trainees value AMID for gaining relevant academic knowledge and practical skills, work experience, and network. The program offers academic and theoretical insights as well as a translation to practice-based solutions. Every year, AMID seeks to offer between 30-35 trainee positions.
