Who we are: RECOSI (Regional and European Co-Operative for Social Industry) based in Ireland is a not for profit organisation. We were formed in early 2014 by a group of like-minded individuals, who want to help to develop social enterprises, which operate mainly in the area of reuse of IT equipment and WEEE. What we need? We are asking for your old IT equipment as you upgrade. With your generous donation our trained employees refurbish your IT equipment. When this process is complete we reach out locally in your area; to schools, community centres, charities and marginalised individuals to give their lives a kickstart from your donation. The price of refurbished equipment is a lot cheaper compared to a new machine of the same spec. This means the equipment can reach more people, transforming local communities. We train and employ people: We pride ourselves in our training and employment program where we work with as many people as we can from disadvantaged backgrounds - these include; long-term unemployed, people with a disability and other marginalised groups. Our aim is to provide them with purpose and satisfaction. We do that by giving them job opportunities and essential industry skills. This could kickstart their career in the industry. Why do we do this? We strive to help businesses fulfill their corporate social responsibilities. We understand that it is difficult to find the time during your busy schedule to think about your IT disposal. We believe that IT equipment has a longer life than is made out. There are too many people who have no access to technology because of financial reasons and we believe this is wrong. We know that we can not do this alone. We need the help and collaboration of so many people and groups, but we know that we can start the ball rolling. It requires inputs from many different sources and every single one of those makes a difference and is appreciated. We believe you can help.
