ActionLaser is an example of a successful Australian “high tech start-up” manufacturing company. It evolved from the combination of the sugar industry’s need for a better sugar centrifuge screen and the development by CSIRO research physicists of advanced Nd-YAG laser perforation technology. ActionLaser has unique capabilities using patented processes to produce finely perforated sheet and tubular products. These include high performance, laser-drilled stainless steel screens (LaserScreens), sieves, aerators, support grids and a wide range of other products. The screens range in aperture size from 0.05 mm to 0.6 mm. Today, as in the past, we remain a company with about 20 employees. We are frequently challenged to laser perforate new products that seem impossible. Often, we succeed. We are always keen to explore new laser drilling applications, expanding the limits of our known capabilities. In addition to marketing LaserScreens, we are privileged to represent two global market leading companies to the Australian Sugar Industry. These companies include Ferguson Perforating from the US and BMA from Germany. In addition, we undertake the sale and marketing of the SRI Jigger Tube in Australian and key international markets.
