iDE Canada creates income and livelihood opportunities in developing countries around the world. We put more money in the pockets of those who need it most through market-based solutions in two main areas: agriculture and sanitation. For farmers, we create access to market information so they know which crops will make the most money. Then we provide the means to produce those crops, including training and access to affordable credit, agricultural inputs and irrigation equipment. For sanitation, we build local capacity to manufacture products such as toilets and water filters. Customers benefit from improved health and reduced medical costs. Thirty-five years ago, we recognized that those experiencing poverty were some of the savviest customers in the world, willing to invest in products and services that provide real benefits to their health and income earning potential. Since 1982, in partnership with iDE programs around the world, we have helped 27 million people.
