Institute for Coordinated Community Response

www.instituteccr.org

The Institute for Coordinated Community Response, a program of the Conference on Crimes Against Women, works alongside rural communities to improve their collaborative, systemic response to domestic violence. ICCR works to accomplish this mission in two ways: 1) Saturate the state of Texas with effective criminal justice system responses to domestic violence: There are 191 rural counties in Texas – about 75% of the state. Each year, ICCR selects teams of law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and advocates from up to four of these counties, at no cost to the participants, to identify what is needed in each community and create a sustainable Coordinated Community Response (CCR) to domestic violence that will continue long after the ICCR year. 2) Ensure every community across the United States, no matter how small, receives the training they need to provide justice for victims and hold offenders accountable. Together with the larger Conference on Crimes Against Women team, the Institute provides virtual, year-round training on domestic violence dynamics and collaborative solutions that center the unique needs of rural communities.
