Orchestre de Picardie

Founded in 1984, the Orchestre de Picardie has grown over the years and today is known as a Mannheim Orchestrer with 37 permanent musicians. Following renowned predecessors such as Alexandre Myrat, Patrick Fournillier, Louis Langrée, Edmon Colomer and Pascal Verrot; Arie van Beek, permanent artistic director-head for ten years, will hand over the baton to Johanna Malangré in September 2022. The Orchestre de Picardie is responsible for the production, transmission and distribution of symphonic music. Committed to a close relationship with all its audiences, the Orchestre de Picardie performs throughout the region in order to provide access to classical music for the most remote populations. In fact, the Orchestre de Picardie was the first orchestra to have received the "National Orchestra in the region" label in July 2018. Ambassador of its region, the Orchestre de Picardie has also participated in European networks that it has created , and the lasting partnerships from which it benefits contribute to determining a unique identity and testify to the modernity of the project it leads. The activities of the Orchestre de Picardie are organized around three pillars: seasonal concerts, artistic education and civic actions.
