In 1983 NCT has been founded in Breda, a city in the south of the Netherlands ideally located between Europe’s major ports, Rotterdam and Antwerp and close to the German Ruhr Gebiet. A few years later an office in Hong Kong was opened for its sales into China. In 1986 Neste Oy of Finland, decided to acquire NCT as part of its growth strategy and in the following years offices were opened in Sweden, Finland, The USA, Singapore and Dubai. NCT experienced a fast growth in polymer sales. In the year 2000 Neste Oy agreed to sell the shares of NCT Holland BV to the management. This MBO enabled NCT to successfully continue as an independent distributor and trader. We have strengthened our sales force in the MEAF region with offices in Kenya, Turkey, India, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia. With our extensive European network of offices in Holland, Germany, Poland, Finland, Italy, France and Spain we became a stronger Pan European distribution and trading company. Today NCT is focused on the European (including Turkey) and MEAF (including Indian sub-continent) regions as its sales areas, while our sourcing is worldwide. As a consequence of the built up of Petrochemical complexes in the Middle East a considerable change in product streams is expected. To be able to continue to play a serious role and serve our markets in the best possible way, early 2008, NCT agreed to form a Joint-Venture company with Itochu Corporation Japan. Itochu acquired a minority share in NCT Holland and together we form a top 10 world player in the trade and distribution of plastic raw materials.
