KMOP, founded in 1977, is one of the oldest civil society organizations in Greece, with extensive experience in supporting people through the provision of direct social services and the implementation of social initiatives. Over the last years, the organization has established an international presence, being active today in 7 countries, and operating permanent offices in Athens, Thessaloniki, Brussels, and Skopje. KMOP has adopted a multi-stakeholder partnerships approach, working with major actors in the public and private sectors, as well as with civil society, to design and implement knowledge-based, solution-oriented actions that are essential to driving social change; to foster people’s resilience, to promote individual and collective well-being, to eliminate vulnerabilities and consequently to assure inclusive and sustainable social growth. The organization is missioned to make a positive impact in society through innovative interventions and effective social policy design. Working with and for society, people are at the core of our actions. We actively support individuals and communities by providing direct social services, implementing innovative programs, and offering educational opportunities. Our extensive research capacity blended with close interaction with society is ensuring a deep understanding of the real social challenges and in turn, is leading to effective and impactful policy design.
