The way large organisations operate was inherited from Factory System of industrial age. In this system we are asking managers to be superhuman: expert, coach&mentor, patient but with high sense of urgency, high strategic and high tactical… But we are not still in the industrial age; we live in a completely new environment characterised by uncertainty, volatility, turbulence. All is service and experience and organisations are looking for new frameworks for generate value in a continuous innovation path. We see the emergence of new way of working, always in teams, cross functions, cross region, often virtual, with external and internal professionals involved. How in this new way of working traditional practices to manage assess, performance and development can still fit?
