www.gotabilitysports.comGot Ability Sports, L3C (GAS) Fueling Adaptive Sports and Recreation Our mission, vision and purpose (MVP) for Got Ability Sports… Mission: To empower people with disabilities to participate in sports & recreation Vision: To create a multitude of sports & recreation outlets for people with disabilities Purpose: To be a drop of hope and ignite a passion for sport & recreation Got Ability Sports, L3C founder Bryan Wilkinson has more than twelve years of wheelchair sport and recreation experience through a wide variety of outlets in South East Michigan and throughout the Midwest. He was paralyzed in the year 2000 at age 19 in Cheboygan County, Michigan in a dirt bike accident. He sustained a spinal cord injury and is paralyzed from his chest down. Before his injury Bryan was very active in soccer, and wide variety of outdoor sports. He weight lifted and did an exhibition at the Mr. Michigan body building competition during his first year at Grand Valley State University. After that he started playing wheelchair tennis in 2005 through Mary Free Bed (MFB) Rehabilitation Hospital. In 2004 he started handcycling and became the MFB Handcycle Team coach at the beginning of 2010. Currently he teaches Archery for South East Livingston County Recreation Authority (SELCRA). He stays busy on the board of the League Of Michigan Bicyclists, Michigan DNR Accessibility Advisory Council and volunteers on the Junior Diversity Committee through the United States Tennis Association. He also offers advice through a network of Spinal Cord Injury support groups, roundtables and peer mentor outlets for people who are newly injured or have life challenges.
