Sustainable Salons is a unique social enterprise that specialises in collecting up to 95% of the salon bin and redirecting all material for reuse, recycling, and repurposing solutions. Founded by Paul Frasca and Ewelina Soroko in 2015, the program rewards the salon’s sustainability commitment, while 100% of the recycling proceeds are donated to charitable organisations OzHarvest and KiwiHarvest to help feed those in need. Our dream is for sustainability to become a regular part of our everyday lives, so we’ve made a promise to start where we are, and do what we can. That’s why we focus our sustainability efforts on hairdressing, beauty, dermal, barbering and pet-grooming across Australia and New Zealand. We know that more and more people are becoming conscious of their lifestyle and purchasing impact, so it’s our mission to make sure there’s a Sustainable Salon in reach for every one. Under People, Planet and Profit, we create positive change in everything we do because our vision is to be the voice for sustainability and the circular economy leader in the Feel Good Industry. Today, the program has more than 1,200 salon members (and growing!) across the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand as part of the journey to make sustainability reality.
