JCMU Japan Center
jcmu.isp.msu.eduThe Japan Center for Michigan Universities (JCMU) is an educational institution with its main campus on the shores of Lake Biwa in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan. We are a Consortium of Michigan's 15 public universities, and our study abroad programs are a product of the sister-state relationship between the State of Michigan and Shiga Prefecture. Opportunities through JCMU include study abroad programs for U.S. college students, teaching and research for faculty, and English language and culture programs for Japanese students of all ages. Our programs are dedicated to building relationships between Japanese, Americans, and other nationalities through active learning and participation in language, culture, family life, and society. JCMU has been welcoming students of all majors since 1989 to participate in various Japanese language/culture and English language programs. Students and scholars from around the world are welcome to apply! To learn more about us and our programs, visit our website (http://jcmu.isp.msu.edu/). Because of our position working with both Japan and the U.S., JCMU has connections with organizations and companies in both nations. Most notably, the Japan Business Society of Detroit and the Michigan-Shiga Sister State Board are strong proponents of our initiatives. In fact, many JCMU students go on to work at Japanese companies located in Michigan. It is our hope that we will help students develop both academically and professionally, allowing them to work together with our Japanese partners and strengthen relations between Japan and the U.S. If you have any questions about our programs, our mission, or anything else, we would be happy to hear from you! Send us a message over LinkedIn or e-mail (jcmu@msu.edu). You can connect with us on other social media platforms as well!
