The Milligan Foundation, a project of Cultural Media Services Inc., is a nonprofit dedicated to fulfilling its mission of providing transportation and relocation services to victims of domestic violence. The services offered provide additional support and resources to domestic violence shelters, hospitals, and police departments when situations arise that require clients be moved to safer locations. Among some of the other services offered are shelter search assistance, emergency 48 hour housing, and personal security escort. A secondary aspect of the organization is advocacy for Trauma Informed Care. We accomplish this by promoting nurturing and empowering shelter environments. The shelter environment plays an important part of a person’s emotional and mental well being and should not be overlooked. Our commitment to creating peaceful, nurturing, and empowering environments is a belief we wish to share and spread to all shelters. The foundation uses the connections we make with interior designers, home furnishing manufacturers, contractors, and developers, to improve the shelters so many call home.
