Our own story is closely aligned to that of APEC - Asia Pacific Economic Council, as its progenitor. Our role in providing Authentic Intelligence to our Members & acting as the independent voice of responsible business & trade across Asia Pacific continues to bring value to our Members and the societies in which they operate. PBEC Vision The Pacific Basin Economic Council believes that through cooperation and the exchange of ideas, the private sector can work with governments and civil society to promote significant and responsible growth, prosperity and trade in APEC member States. PBEC Values PBEC believes that business conducted in a transparent and sustainable way empowers all stakeholders and is of long-term benefit to governments and citizens alike. We also believe that business has an opportunity to help lift communities out of poverty thus creating progress and harmony for all. PBEC Purpose Independent, apolitical and pro-business, PBEC’s purpose is to be a vital catalyst in the promotion of regional economic integration and growth. We are the only institution that links Latin-America with the rest of Asia and the Pacific in order to create opportunities for the private sector.
