Our Philosophy We believe that attaining gender equality requires the elimination of all oppressions. We work to raise awareness about issues affecting women and other oppressed groups. We provide space for the empowerment, growth, and encouragement of women. We are dedicated to bringing about social and economic justice. Therefore, we prioritize group empowerment over the desires of individuals. Our Mission To provide a supportive community space for all women by offering opportunities for empowerment, learning, healing, trauma support, and understanding. Our History Founded in 1971, following a women’s movement building takeover, the Cambridge Women’s Center has been developing innovative programs and services for women of all backgrounds for 48+ years. We offer all of our programs and services completely free of charge! We are the oldest community-based center for women in the United States and are excited to see what we can accomplish in the next half-century.
