Women In Tech Birmingham will meet up regularly to support, empower, and promote women and non-binary folks in the tech industry. It's well known that women are underrepresented in tech: - Just 17% of those working in technology in the UK are women. - Only 7% of students taking computer science A-level courses are female. - Only 5% of leadership roles in the technology sector are held by women. - The gender pay gap is at 9.6%. This needs to change. Women In Tech Birmingham wants to: - Support, encourage and inspire each other. We want to give everyone the confidence to achieve what they want in their careers. - Challenge the stereotypes that discourage women from studying and applying for job roles in STEM. - Fight the challenges that women in tech face every day. - Promote gender equality in the workplace.
