Freeland Brasil is a non-profit brazilian organization whose mission is to conserve biodiversity by combating illegal wildlife trade, using a three interdependent pillars approach: education, training, and politics. Freeland Brasil works for a sustainable world free of wildlife trafficking, dedicating itself to: education and awareness to reduce demand and create an effective behavior change; capacity building through the development of tools, training and support for law enforcement agencies in combating illegal wildlife trade; and public policies and international articulation, to institutionalize the fight against wildlife trafficking in Brazil and South America. Founded in 2012, Freeland Brasil is the South American branch of Freeland Foundation (freeland.org), a respected international organization that combats illegal wildlife trade and human trafficking. The Freeland Foundation works with governments to protect vulnerable human communities and wildlife from organized crime and corruption.
