www.janetbotes.co.zaJanet Botes (1984-) is a visual artist working in various media - including Land Art, Installation Art, Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media, Photography, Digital Art and Assemblage - and involves her working just as much in the outdoors than in the studio. Her conceptual focus primarily revolves around our place and connection within the web of life, and aims to honour the sacredness, cycles and biodiversity of the Earth in her art and workshops. Janet has helped to coordinate monthly land art gatherings for artists based in the Western Cape, and has volunteered as a team member for Site_Specific and Anni Snyman's Karoo Geoglyph Project. Janet's art is included in local corporate art collections, and she has created the artwork for the Sandown MyCiti bus station for Cape Town City. Her second solo exhibition, ORGANISM, was shown at StateoftheART Gallery in Cape Town, and in August 2015 she visited South Korea as part of the Global Nomadic Art Project (GNAP), which was then hosted by South Africa as 'Stories of Rain' in September 2016. Janet is one of the artists for both the 2019 and 2021 Tankwa Artscape residency, and is working on her third solo exhibition.
